A concept pioneered by Page Morahan, PhD., Co-Director of the ELAM program, and Judith Katz, Ed.D., Co-Coaching by Drs. Rosen and Katz provides a unique service to clients, bridging the breadth, experience and training of a licensed psychologist, with extensive experience in higher education, career management, coaching and transition, and a senior physician executive, with experience in academic medicine and the university. Drs. Katz and Rosen have teamed together to provide a unique perspective to work with clients in addressing issues of career advancement, leadership development and transition. A board certified pathologist, Dr. Rosen received the M.D. from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Following residency and fellowship training, she joined the faculty at Temple University School of Medicine, achieving the rank of Professor with Tenure. She served as Acting Chair of the Department of Pathology and had over 15 years of experience in various leadership positions in the Dean’s Office at Temple University School of Medicine, including Associate Dean for Student Affairs and Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, where her responsibilities included student affairs, medical education, continuing medical education, graduate programs and academic affiliations. She was instrumental in developing new dual degree programs, the Committee on the Status of Women Faculty, the Faculty Affairs Committee, and many professional development programs for faculty, residents, post doctoral fellows and students. After a career in senior leadership at the Medical School, Dr. Rosen transitioned to the University, where she serves as Special Assistant, Office of the Provost, and Director of the Center for Women’s Health Research, Leadership and Advocacy, Office of the Senior Vice President for Research and Strategic Initiatives, Temple University. She has served as the Women’s Liaison Officer to the Association of American Medical Colleges for over 15 years and was recently appointed to the Advisory Committee on Research on Women’s Health at the National Institutes of Health, Office of Research on Women’s Health. In 2006, Dr. Rosen was named the first ELAM (Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine) Senior Scholar, a position created to help advance research and other initiatives aimed at redressing the paucity of women leaders at the topmost levels of U.S. academic health centers. Dr. Rosen is a Faculty Advisor for the ELAM program. She is certified in the 360 Assessment Suite through the Center for Creative Leadership and qualified to purchase and administer the Myers Briggs Type Indicator. |
