Dr. Danner provides organization and leadership development, team development, and change management. He works both with leaders and departments in academic settings, and with senior administrators and teams in academic medical centers.

Dr. Danner provides the following services:

  • Organization Development

Engagements for organization development may include whole system planning processes, strategic planning including mission and vision development, and whole department planning meetings or issue resolution meetings.

  • Team Development

Engagements for team development may include building effective work relationships between managers and staff, or developing department collaboration and cooperation. The process includes assessment of issues and needs, prioritization of key areas for initiatives, and planning of issue resolution sessions.

  • Change Management

Departments or teams experiencing major change often need additional perspective on the change process and how to mange it personally, professionally and as a department or a team. After diagnosis of the change environment, an engagement would involve meeting to understand the change process and strategies and processes for managing the change effectively. The intervention focuses on action planning, growing out of the new understanding of change dynamics.

Dr. Danner is Director of Management and Organization Development for the Philadelphia Region of Tenet Healthcare, Inc., with responsibility for professional development in Tenet's eight-hospital system in Philadelphia. He has also provided consulting services externally to business and manufacturing organizations, as well as nonprofit clients. His management and organization development consulting expertise includes team development, change management, strategic planning, and conflict management and issue resolution. He has worked with senior management teams as well as large hospital departments, and has provided consulting support for major institutional change processes both for the hospital and academic side of academic health centers. He is teaching management development and organization development, and conducts training in topics, which include team development, leadership development, change management and managing diversity. He served as an internal organization development consultant for a bank system before his current role in academic health care.
